Welcome to Ogma Studios
The Studio
I am a writer and artist based in Northamptonshire; Ogma Studios is a collection of my freelance work, commissions and personal projects.
Graduating in Fine Art & Contemporary Media, from the University of Wales, Newport, I have set out to combine a life-long passion for ancestral history with my writings and art, creating a unique and varied style.
Half Scottish and half English, I have spent most of my life searching for my cultural roots, exploring ancient history and mythology. I've always found it a great shame that our Gaelic, Celtic and Norse identity is downplayed in favour of Greece and Rome. We have such a rich tapestry of our own mythology and I love to explore this primordial past.
My Journey
Slowly, a picture began to form and now this research is culminating in to the saga of not only our clan but all who claim Gaelic ancestry.
My reasons for creating the saga are two-fold, not only to satisfy my own desire to discover and explore the myths of my people but also the importance I believe myth has to our psyche; as a tool for understanding our existence and our place within it.
There are many projects, other than the Clan Saga that I have planned and hope to share with you in the future.

Who is Ogma?
Ogma Grian-aineach (of the Sunny Countenance) was one of the Tuatha Dé Danaan of Irish-Gaelic Mythology and son of The Dagda. He is the god of eloquence and literature but it was also known as a great warrior. His main skill lay in poetry, it was he who created the Ogham script. And so Ogma was a natural choice for the name of my site.
